CITY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING JUNE 26, 2018, 5:00pm - 8:00pm:
Please plan to attend this meeting and comment on the following:
- A community-driven housing strategy is needed before the Comprehensive Plan moves forward. Any future Comprehensive Plan must be part of a city-wide policy that addresses housing needs for extremely low-income people.
- The Comprehensive Plan must focus on race. Zoning lows have historically been used to segregate and displace communities of color. The Comprehensive Plan must make amends for the past.
- The Comprehensive Plan must center extremely low-income residents. New planning and zoning decisions must help create new housing options for households earning less than 30% of area median income.
